My research interests include Phenomenology, 19th and 20th Century Continental Philosophy, Epistemology, Philosophy of Perception, Social and Political Philosophy, and Modern Philosophy.
My first book, entitled Motivation and the Primacy of Perception: Merleau-Ponty's Phenomenology of Knowledge, is currently out with Ohio University Press. This project provides an interpretation and defense of Merleau-Ponty's epistemology, using the phenomenological concept of "motivation" as an interpretative key. See my "Book Synopsis" below for more information.
My second book, Merleau-Ponty and Contemporary Philosophy of Perception, was recently published with Routledge. This book draws on Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology to develop new and promising solutions to contemporary debates about perception. In providing an extension and defense of Merleau-Ponty's account of perceptual content and of the relation between perception and the world, I aim to demonstrate the value of Merleau-Ponty's insights for philosophy of perception today.
I also have publications on concept formation, narrativity and personal identity, phenomenology, Kant, epistemology, and more out now or forthcoming.
I am currently working on an edited volume on the phenomenological relationship between motivatation and time, co-edited with Nikos Soueltzis (University of Patras) and Christos Hadjioannou (University of Cyprus), and including contributions by scholars such as Daniel Dahlstrom, Susi Ferrarello, Thomas Fuchs, Shaun Gallagher, Sara Heinämaa, and Lilian Alweiss.
